What to Pack for Your Vacation to Cabo San Lucas

Planning a trip to Cabo San Lucas? There is much to see and do there, and visitors want to be prepared for anything. With that being said, pack accordingly. It may seem like a challenge, but vacationers need to pack smart. Here a few helpful tips to best arrive at your destination prepared to hit the beach and be carefree and relaxed.

Passport: One of the most important things that visitors are going to need to bring with is a passport. Since January 2007, all people, including United States citizens, traveling by plane between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda are required to present a valid passport, Air NEXUS card, or U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Document. No passport, no travel. Be sure to double-check that all travelers have proper identification to make traveling go as smoothly as possible.

Medicine and Insurance Card: When traveling, it is important to carry insurance information in case that someone needs to visit the hospital for one reason or another. It helps to speed up the process if there is an emergency situation. Be sure to bring medication with as well. Tums, Pepto Bismol, Tylenol, and any other prescription medications travelers may need to have with them. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Sun Protection: It’s obvious that the sun and weather are beautiful in Mexico, but it is also important to remember to protect skin from the damaging rays. Bring sunglasses and a hat for protection. Don’t forget the sunscreen, and be sure to bring the good stuff. SPF 15 isn’t going to help you in Mexico.

Pack for Varied Weather: Remember to pack for anything. Although it is usually shorts and t-shirt kind of weather in Cabo, it can get chilly during the evening. Be sure to bring a pair of pants and a jacket or sweater in case it is cool at night.

Camera: Be sure to pack a camera to capture the beautiful scenery and great memories. Don’t forget that camera charger, extra batteries, film, and/or memory cards. Visitors may regret leaving these at home.

Aloe Gel: The sun in Cabo is much stronger than in most of the United States, so bring some aloe gel on the trip. It will help to soothe sunburn. For travelers that get burned, pair that aloe with a couple of anti-inflammatory/pain reducers like ibuprofen and drink a lot of water.

Small Backpack or Bag: Pack a small backpack or bag. It will be very helpful to carry sunscreen, sunglasses, room keys, bottled water, and anything else that would be convenient to have on a day at the beach.

Tennis Shoes: Some people spend all of their time by the pool at the resort, and that is great! If visitors want to do something a bit more adventurous like hiking, horseback riding or driving an ATV, they will want to have a pair of tennis shoes.

Extra Change of Clothes: Be sure to pack a change of clothes with you when you arrive at the resort. Check in time is not until 4 p.m., and we want to be sure that you can start your vacation right away. Cabo Villas Beach Resort and Spa offers a hospitality suite for guests to change prior to check in, so pack your swimsuit or beachwear so you will be ready to hit the beach.

If you remember to pack these few things with you, you will be ready for just about anything. Then you can just sit back, relax and enjoy your vacation. Packing is the hard part. Booking the trip is easy. Start planning your getaway to Cabo today.

Cabo G20 Summit: Proof that Los Cabos is Safer than Ever

This year’s G20 Summit is scheduled for June 18-19 in Los Cabos. The G20 Summit is a prestigious gathering of leaders and ministers from 20 of the most economically powerful countries in the world including: the United States, Mexico, Germany, South Korea, Argentina, Brazil, France, Italy ,India, Indonesia, Turkey, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, Canada, Russia, China, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia. The G20 forum comes together to study and promote discussions about issues related to industrialized countries to maintain a stable international financial system.

Los Cabos was chosen to host this summit for many reasons. The destination’s first class-hotel and airport infrastructure were noted as two very important factors in the decision. In the past years, Cabo has made significant improvements. Putting in new highways and new infrastructures have added much appeal to the destination. The fact that Los Cabos has over 300 days of sunshine and amazing weather adds to the appeal of hosting the summit there.

When having world leaders in one location, one of the most important factors is safety.  Cabo is located at the tip of the Baja Peninsula and is completely off the drug trafficking routes, making it a very safe destination. Cabo is one of the safest destinations in Mexico, as the logistics of the area make it very safe and secure.

The G20 Summit will be held in the new Convention Center in Cabo, which was built specifically to host this event. The 653,400 square foot center can compete with the likes of other Mexican hotspots such as Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Mexico City. Designed to accommodate over 6,000 people, the Convention Center is the perfect place to hold the G20 Summit. Built specifically for the purposes of hosting conventions and summits such as this, the Convention Center represents $100,000,000 investment by the federal government and a $1,500,000 investment from the state of Baja California Sur.

Diverse Wildlife from Sea of Cortez Attracts Many to Cabo

Nature provides many opportunities for awe and the Sea of Cortez abundantly supplies those wonderful moments. Visitors to Cabo San Lucas can see a leaping dolphin or a swimming sea lion while enjoying their time in Mexico. Not a dolphin or sea lion lover? There are many other types of wildlife to discover around Cabo San Lucas:

Brown Pelicans

The smallest pelican of eight other types of pelicans, the brown pelican is known for swooping over the water and scooping up its prey. Their pouch, which is attached to the lower mandible, when full can hold up to three gallons of water and fish and is the largest pouch of any bird in the world. It doesn’t do them any good, however. Their bellies can only hold around one gallon.

Mobula Rays

While watching the water one might see a Mobula Ray leap out of the water. Hard to miss, the Mobula Ray can reach a width of 17 feet. It is uncertain why these creatures fly through the air. Some theories believe it is a hunting technique or a way to shed parasites. Others believe it is just a form of exercise and play! Whatever the reason, these “Devil Rays” are majestically beautiful to watch soar through the air above the ocean.

 Blue Whale

It is quite the experience to see the largest animal known to man spouting water! They usually travel alone or in pairs. One of the best times to catch a glimpse of this magnificent creature is between July and September.

In addition to sea life, a variety of species can be seen while hiking and cave kayaking. Many of these activities are planned by local groups and more information can be found at the resorts and hotels of Cabo. Cabo Villas Resorts and Hotels has a page on their website dedicated to activities in the area like deep sea fishing and an outback & camel safari.
